Robert Mazzarese, Esq.

Rob Mazzarese has over a decade of legal experience. His practice emphasizes counseling for technology-intensive companies as they build legal protections around their innovations. He provides strategic counseling on the development of intellectual property portfolios including patents, trade secrets, copyrights, trademarks, and other domestic and foreign modes of intellectual property protection. In this role, Rob has prepared and prosecuted patents in numerous technical fields including telecommunications, semiconductors, analog and digital circuitry, computer architecture, data networks, image processing, software, medical devices, and business methods.

He also regularly advises clients on transactions and disputes relating to intellectual property. He has engaged in intellectual property diligence and assisted in negotiations on transactions ranging from venture capital investments in small start-ups to acquisitions of publicly traded companies. He analyzes third-party patents and portfolios for clients, and when necessary, prepares opinions of non-infringement. He has also provided support for intellectual property litigation in various roles.

Rob is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and admitted to the practice of law in Massachusetts and New York. He is also a member of numerous legal and engineering trade organizations including the Boston Patent Law Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
